As a Senior Payroll Operations Specialist, you will be accountable for driving and optimising payroll operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing across Australian Retirement Trust (ART). You will serve as a key point of contact for payroll enquires, delivering responsive and accurate support to employees and stakeholders. You will also oversee compliance with legislative changes, support system upgrades, and contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance payroll efficiency and governance. Day to day, you'll: Oversee end to end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with industrial instruments, legislation, and organisational policies. Act as an escalation point for complex payroll and systems issues, providing expert advice to stakeholders. Coach and mentor payroll team members, fostering technical capability and continuous improvement. Drive payroll process harmonisation and system enhancements, ensuring robust controls and integration with systems. Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, implement controls for legislative changes, and manage audit readiness. Collaborate with People & Culture, Finance, and external partners to improve payroll services and deliver strategic initiatives. Identify and execute opportunities for automation, efficiency, and improved employee experience. This role is available as a secondment/ max-term opportunity until July 1, 2026. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: Extensive experience in complex payroll operations within large organisations. Advance knowledge of payroll legislation, Awards, and Agreements. Proficiency in enterprise payroll systems (Oracle, Chris21) and payroll testing for enhancements and compliance changes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
