This position is for a full time qualified veterinary nurse. The hours will be approximately 35-40 hours per week. You will be expected to work some weekends in a shared roster with the other nurses and one late night per week until 8pm. There is some overtime in this role.
The successful applicant will have a minimum Certificate IV qualification in veterinary nursing and be happy to work in a full-time position of approximately 4 days a week with occasional weekends.

The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high standards of veterinary care to our patients.
Some experience would be preferred.
You will be trained in all of the procedures above. Our head of veterinary nursing is vastly experienced and spent many years working in emergency and critical care at Onderstepoort University in South Africa.
About the Role

What you'll be doing
You're playing an important role in delivering exceptional patient care including
* Nursing and monitoring hospital patients
* Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring
* Collecting blood samples and running laboratory tests
* Placing IV catheters and preparing fluid therapy
* Scrubbing into theatre to assist veterinarian with difficult surgery such as orthopaedics
* Taking radiographs and CTs with the assistance of the veterinarian
* Preparing surgical packs and maintaining theatre sterility
* Supporting consultations and patient care from admission through recovery
* Performing laser therapy and blood pressure checks on patients
* IOP tests on eyes
* Assisting the veterinarian with consultations and vaccinations
About you
