About The Business Unit
The Victorian Road Safety Strategy commits to eliminating deaths on roads by 2050, with a first step of halving road deaths by 2030 and reducing serious injuries from road crashes. Road Safety manages Victoria's road safety camera network and represents the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) in Victoria’s road safety partnership. It operates in policy and strategic directions of road safety enforcement and is accountable to the Minister for Police and the Office of the Road Safety Camera Commissioner.
About The Role
The Senior Manager, Program Delivery reports directly to the Director, Road Safety and is a key member of the senior leadership team. The role leads a team of Senior Project Managers delivering multiple complex projects across Road Safety, providing high-level project management and delivery expertise to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the program of works.
The position requires liaising with specialist project management, finance, contract management, and operations staff through each stage of the project delivery lifecycle. It also involves establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers, vendors and contractors.
Some Of Your Duties Will Include
- Contributing to the full delivery life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives
- Research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs
- Managing projects or sub-projects and being accountable for successful delivery within resourcing, timeline, quality and budget parameters
- Monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure departmental objectives are met and benefits realised
- Undertaking all project delivery activities in accordance with departmental processes and the DJCS Project Management Excellence Framework
- Providing expert, high-level advice regarding Road Safety projects to internal and external stakeholders; prepare and present detailed reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and departmental submissions on complex matters
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Expert knowledge and proven ability in the effective management and delivery of complex and high-risk projects, preferably in a Government setting
Qualifications/Requirements
- An appropriate tertiary qualification is desirable
- Relevant project management experience is highly desirable
- Membership of a professional Project Management body (e.g., AIPM, PMI) is desirable
