Lead Commissioner – Easter Creek, NSW
Reports to the National Commissioning Manager in Downers Energy & Utilities.
Role overview: Provide technical support, advice and mentoring on all testing and commissioning related matters during feasibility and estimating phases. Key tasks include creating testing and commissioning sequences, estimating efficient and safe commissioning approaches, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
* Create all necessary documentation during the feasibility or tendering stage to improve Downers' market competitiveness.
* Direct pre‐commissioning and commissioning of all primary and secondary electrical apparatus on and off site, ensuring contract compliance.
* Develop Inspection and Test Plans and Commissioning Plans during feasibility or tendering; ensure all test procedures are followed and recorded.
* Maintain a productive workforce that adheres to Downer Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality guidelines.
* Provide proactive support and guidance to Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Supervisors and other Testers during project delivery.
* Complete all necessary documentation and administration for the project.
* Travel and work on remote project sites throughout ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC and other Australian locations.

What we're looking for
* Electrical Engineering degree; diploma in Power Systems desirable.
* Familiarity with Transgrid standards and experience on Transgrid substations.
* Experience performing Recipient In‐Charge duties for EAP and SFT.
* Experience in field testing and commissioning.
* Extensive experience as a protection tester in substation and transmission environments.
* Sound understanding of AS/NZ/ISO standards and legislation.
* Awareness of commercial, subcontracting and procurement frameworks.
* Demonstrated understanding of secondary electrical design.
* High‐level communication skills – written, spoken, presentations and public speaking.
* Ability to manage customer relationships.
* Availability to work on various remote projects across Australia.
