NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer (EIC) to join a major mining owner's project team, supporting the safe and successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of brownfield and sustaining capital projects.
This is a long-term, rolling contract opportunity working client-side on one of Australia's largest and most technically advanced mining and processing operations.
You'll play a key role in managing Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (EIC) scope across multiple concurrent projects - from feasibility and detailed design through to execution, commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and deliver EIC project scopes within approved budgets, schedules and safety standards.
Manage all project lifecycle phases including initiation, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out.
Provide owners engineer expertise across EIC disciplines, ensuring technical integrity and compliance with project standards.
Oversee and coordinate consultants, vendors, and contractors, ensuring effective communication and interface management across disciplines.
Support project controls, including estimating, scheduling, cost tracking and Capital Expenditure Requests (CER).
Apply proactive risk management, change control, and quality assurance practices in line with project governance frameworks.
Demonstrate visible safety leadership and ensure adherence to the site's safety culture and standards.
About You
You're a results-driven EIC Project Engineer with strong technical grounding, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record delivering complex capital projects within the resources or heavy industry sectors.
What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation or related engineering discipline.
5+ years' post-graduate experience in project engineering within the mining, processing, or heavy industrial environment.
Experience leading EIC scopes across multi-discipline projects through all project phases.
Solid technical knowledge of HV/LV systems, electrical protection, safety in design and control system integration.
Ability to interpret and review design documentation such as single line diagrams, P&IDs, control philosophies, and equipment datasheets.
Strong understanding of project delivery principles – cost, schedule, procurement, quality, and risk management.
SAP experience (advantageous).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage confidently across all stakeholder levels.
