Medication Safety Pharmacist Role Overview
This is a challenging role with high levels of responsibility. The successful candidate will promote a culture of medication safety across our health services through multidisciplinary collaboration, monitoring, education, research, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and disseminate information to ensure compliance and ongoing improvement in quality use of medicines.
* Implement action plans in response to medication errors, safety alerts, legislative changes, and new or updated jurisdictional guidelines.
* Audit and review policies and procedures, providing staff education as needed.
* Participate in medication safety and quality use of medicine initiatives from relevant bodies.
About You:
* You must be registered as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Hospital pharmacy experience with clinical or project experience is required.
* Experience or special interest in Medication Safety or Quality Use of Medicines is highly desirable.
