Job Title: Professor and Director of Molecular Imaging Research
The role requires a visionary leader with a strong academic background, providing strategic direction for the research program in molecular imaging and theranostics. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of researchers and developing a high-level academic research program.
About the Role:
The Nuclear Medicine and PET Department at Alfred Health provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services, including positron emission tomography (PET), for inpatients and outpatients. The department includes a team of nuclear medicine specialists, technologists, clerical staff, and physicists.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Oversight of research programs in molecular imaging, PET, and theranostics
* Recruitment of researchers and development of a comprehensive research program
* Clinical leadership role within Alfred Health
* Joint accountability to the Program Director, Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, and the Head of Central Clinical School for research, teaching, and administrative duties relevant to Monash University
Requirements:
We are seeking a highly qualified medical practitioner with extensive knowledge and experience in nuclear medicine, PET, and theranostics. The successful candidate must possess:
* Fellowship of the relevant college(s)
* FRANZCR / FRACP Nuclear Medicine qualification
* Ability to meet Alfred Health credentialing and scope of practice requirements for Nuclear Medicine, PET, and Theranostics
* Demonstrable extensive knowledge and experience in Nuclear Medicine, PET, and Theranostics
* Demonstrated experience in teaching
* A higher research degree, or equivalent research achievement as demonstrated by published work and research grant success
* Outstanding communication skills, including well-developed conflict resolution skills
* Ability to liaise well with other staff at all levels
* Demonstrated flexibility in problem-solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/other teams
