The Treasury is seeking a highly organised and motivated Team Leader to manage the Network Infrastructure team. The team is responsible for the installation, management and support of Treasury's network and IP communication infrastructure, operations, governance, architecture, and security. The team provides 3rd-level support for user issues and works closely with the Service Delivery, Cloud Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams.
The role has a requirement to participate in the team's on-call roster and involves some after-hours work requirements from time to time.
As the Team Leader of the Network Infrastructure team you will:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the team, by setting work priorities, maintaining team training plans, managing workflows, effectively allocating and utilising resources, and developing improvement strategies.
- Engage and collaborate with internal support teams, project teams and vendors to deliver business outcomes.
- Manage and respond to escalated client inquiries.
- Effective incident management and monitoring of Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Be the central point of contact for areas within the Network Infrastructure team and IT Project teams, providing advice and guidance.
- Ad-hoc reporting of incident status and the incident queue.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
- Provide input into Network system projects that address risk, scalability, supportability and suitability of new systems.
- Manage IT contracts and procurement activities.
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring for junior staff.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior leadership and key stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor.
- Demonstrated technical and leadership experience in an IT networking environment in Federal Government
- Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated management of an IT multi-disciplinary team
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
- Ability to make sound decisions based on business outcomes
- Financial management and procurement expertise
- High level negotiations skills and ability to maintain positive, close working relationships with other support teams and service providers
- Ability to resolve complex or challenging workplace issues under limited supervision.
