Human Resources Officer – Full-Time

We are seeking an organised, supportive and people-focused Human Resources Officer to join our College's HR team on a full-time basis. This role is an integral part of our College operations, providing quality HR support to teaching and non-teaching staff across the College.
About the Role:
The Human Resources Officer will assist with the smooth delivery of HR services across the College, ensuring compliance with College policies, child safety requirements, and relevant industrial agreements. Working closely with the Human Resource, Risk & Compliance Manager, this role supports all stages of the employee lifecycle and contributes to a positive, professional staff culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate end-to-end recruitment for College staff, including advertising roles, arranging interviews, preparing employment contracts and ensuring all pre-employment checks (WWCC, VIT, police checks) are completed.
Support onboarding and induction for new staff, ensuring a welcoming and well-organised introduction to the College.
Maintain accurate and confidential staff records in line with College policies and Child Safe Standards.
Providing advice and guidance on HR and employee relations matters, including award, EBA and legislation interpretation.
Contributing to the planning and delivery of cyclical activities, reporting, HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Supporting the College's compliance with industrial relations obligations and relevant legislation.
Assisting the Human Resource, Risk & Compliance Manager with Occupational Health and Safety matters as required.
Assist with compliance, audits and reporting to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.
About You:
Previous experience in a Human Resources or school administration role is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of confidentiality, professionalism and the importance of child safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to support staff.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
A positive, proactive approach and readiness to learn College-specific HR processes.
Relevant HR qualifications or working towards them will be viewed favourably.
