Family Violence Case Manager
* This role involves providing a range of support options for victim survivors of family violence, including short, medium and long term casework.
* Key selection criteria include demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with high level of awareness of key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities.
* Understanding the issues of family violence and the impact on women, children and families in an Aboriginal context is also required.
* The ability to empower and advocate for clients with a non-judgemental approach is essential.
* A knowledge of local family violence programs, accommodation, legal, health and community services within the region is necessary.
* The role also requires the ability to work collaboratively with other Aboriginal and mainstream organisations in formal and informal partnerships to achieve mutually agreed client/community outcomes.
* Able to work independently and as a collaborative team member in a challenging environment, including prioritise workload and tasks effectively.
* Mentor new and existing staff to develop their skills and knowledge relevant to their role.
Requirements
* A bachelor's degree in social work (or equivalent) or willingness to work toward the qualification in line with mandatory minimum qualifications policy or significant lived experience relevant to the work.
* Valid Police Check, Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended).
