SAS Counsellor (Social Worker/ Psychologist/Sexual Assault Worker/Counsellor)

Remuneration:$76.364.00 – $108,943.00 per annum, pro rata(+ super +17.5% leave loading where applicable)

What you'll be doing

Providing crisis intervention and trauma‐informed counselling to children, adolescents, adults and families impacted by sexual assault, as well as support children with harmful sexual behaviours. You'll work with medical and nursing teams to coordinate care, collaborate with police and community services through JIRT, and deliver outreach counselling across the district. You'll also participate in the 24/7 on‐call roster, maintain accurate clinical documentation, contribute to community education, and take part in team meetings and ongoing professional development.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing trauma-informed, culturally safe counselling and therapeutic support
* Supporting children with problematic or harmful sexual behaviours through specialised therapeutic interventions
* Coordinating medical examinations and follow‐up care with medical and nursing teams
* Working with police, community services and health partners as part of the Joint Investigation Response Team (JIRT)
* Providing education and training to professionals, clients and community groups

Criteria

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

* Relevant qualification in Social Work, Psychologist (with AHPRA), Sexual Assault Worker or Counsellor (with PACFA membership) and evidence of registration of membership (or eligibility) with Australian recognised peak body
* Strong crisis intervention skills and ability to manage urgent situations
* Experience in trauma‐informed counselling and understanding of the impacts of sexual assault
* NSW Working With Children Check and NSW Class C Drivers Licence
* Being a person of female gender is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under section 31H of the Anti‐discrimination Act
