About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team based in Rockingham.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in identifying, assessing and pricing opportunities across mining, industrial, utilities and infrastructure projects throughout Western Australia.
This role is suited to a commercially minded and proactive professional who enjoys building relationships, developing winning submissions and contributing to business growth.
You will work closely with operational teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors to develop accurate, competitive and commercially sound estimates and tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and assess tender invitations, RFQs and client enquiries.
* Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical and/or instrumentation projects.
* Undertake detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
* Assess labour, materials, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs.
* Develop tender strategies and coordinate tender deliverables.
* Prepare high quality tender submissions, methodologies, schedules and supporting documentation.
* Identify commercial, technical and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Liaise with project delivery teams to ensure projects are accurately scoped and costed.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and consultants.
* Conduct site visits where required to verify scope and project requirements.
* Identify value engineering opportunities and innovative solutions for clients.
* Participate in tender clarifications, negotiations and project handovers following project award.
* Maintain estimating databases and historical pricing information.
* Ensure all tender submissions are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines.
About You
* 5 to 10 years of relevant experience estimating within an electrical contracting and/or mining environment.
* Proven experience in electrical estimating within mining, utilities, industrial or infrastructure sectors.
* Experience preparing and coordinating tender submissions and procurement activities.
* Strong understanding of Australian Standards, site compliance requirements and mine‐specification environments.
* Proficiency in SimPRO, or similar platforms.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess project risks, opportunities and profitability.
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem‐solving skills.
* Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
* High level written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to build effective relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Ability to manage multiple tenders and competing priorities simultaneously.
* Trade qualification or engineering qualification in Electrical or Instrumentation (preferred).
* Current Australian Driver's Licence.
