Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Case Worker in the Early Intervention, Intensive Family Support, and Reunification Programs. Based in Port Augusta or Whyalla SA, the Case Worker will support families in the Upper Spencer Gulf Region by conducting casework, managing cases, and delivering tailored family support services. Day‐to‐day responsibilities include engaging with families to identify their needs, developing support plans, providing referrals to services, maintaining accurate case records, and supporting families in achieving reunification or stabilization goals. Collaboration with colleagues and external agencies to deliver culturally safe and effective practices is central to this role.
Qualifications
* Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build trust and rapport with families and stakeholders.
* Experience in social work, case management, and casework within a family support or child protection framework.
* Ability to engage with culturally diverse families, particularly within Aboriginal communities, with a commitment to cultural safety and sensitivity.
* Organizational skills, documentation, and ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive case records.
* Relevant qualifications in social work, community services, or a related field are highly desirable. Cert IV minimum.
* Knowledge of child protection principles and experience working in family support or intervention programs is a plus.
* Driver's license and a valid Working with Children Check, Safe Environments and National Police Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
