The Opportunity
In a new role, the GRDC is seeking a Manager, Sustainable Cropping Systems to develop and manage a portfolio of R&D investments that strengthen the productivity, resilience, and long‐term sustainability of the Australian grains industry.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Sustainable Cropping Systems, the role is focused on investments across agronomy, farming systems, soils and nutrition, including the integration of innovative technologies and novel concepts in these areas.
This involves:
* Design, delivery and performance of R&D investments
* Procurement and contract management
* Stakeholder engagement and collaboration
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Relationship management skills with an ability to influence and communicate technical information clearly
* Experience working closely with a wide range of stakeholders such as grain growers, agronomists, researchers, farming systems groups, ag‐tech companies
* Relevant domain knowledge (soils, agronomy, nutrition, farming systems, etc.) and understanding of Australian grain production systems
* Experience in design, delivery and management of RDE projects
* Tertiary qualifications in Agricultural, environmental science, engineering or related discipline with preference for higher‐degree research training
Strong analytical skills, critical assessment and attention to detail are required.
There is travel in the role, some out‐of‐hours work required, a valid driver's licence and Australian PR/citizenship are required.
