Carer Consultant – North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS)
Overview
Join NMHS as a Carer Consultant. This casual role lasts up to six (6) months with potential extensions. You will bring a personal lived experience as a primary carer of a consumer of mental health services to support the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of mental health programs across the service.
Key Responsibilities
* Represent the carer perspective in committees, meetings and advisory groups
* Work with stakeholders and service providers to improve clinical service delivery
* Facilitate carer feedback and participation in service improvement initiatives
* Co‑facilitate the lived experience advisory group
* Identify and engage relevant carer networks
Qualifications & Experience
* Personal lived experience as a primary carer of a consumer of mental health services
* Genuine interest in improving the carer and consumer experience
* Great communication skills to work effectively with a diverse range of mental health stakeholders
* Demonstrated ability to uphold NMHS core values: Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork, and Integrity

Area Profile
NMHS provides timely access to high‑quality health care across a north‑metropolitan catchment of almost 1000 square kilometres, serving about 28 % of Western Australia's population (≈0.9 million by 2031). NMHS houses Western Australia's largest mental health service, caring for youths, adults and older adults through inpatient units, community clinics and outpatient services.
