Role
ALS Geochemistry in Kalgoorlie is seeking a Work Order Write Up (WOWU) Assistant to support the operations of a fast‑paced minerals preparation and analytical laboratory. This is a full‑time position. The primary function of the role is to provide data entry services using the company's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). However, the successful applicant may also be required to undertake additional duties as needed and within their capabilities.
Working on a rotating roster of 4 days, 4 nights, and 4 days off, your responsibilities will include:
* Filing, archiving, and updating records as required
* Screening phone calls and directing them to the appropriate personnel
* Second‑checking CPTs (Client Profile Templates), work orders, and client codes for Technical Clerical Officers
* Inputting analytical methods and relevant information into GEMS
* Completing work order write‑up tasks
* Preparing re‑assay work, including AUSQUA's
* Assigning method codes and correcting invoices and credits
* Ensuring pricing is correct for active and new work orders
* Liaising with management to obtain turnaround times and ETAs
* Performing other duties as directed by the Section Supervisor/Manager
Hands‑on training will be provided across various laboratory and sample preparation areas to help you gain a solid understanding of the facility's operations.
This is a residential role, and you must reside in or plan to relocate to the Kalgoorlie Boulder region with current Australian work rights to be considered.
Essentials
* Good alpha/numeric skills
* Strong language skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients
* Computer skills and experience with Excel, Word, and OneNote
* Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to collect, interpret and manage data efficiently and accurately
* Experience within a laboratory environment would be advantageous and highly regarded
* Geology, Chemistry, or Earth Science qualifications would be desirable
* Well presented with a friendly team manner
* Be able to work to deadlines and within a team
