The Opportunity
As a member of our Health & Safety team, you will partner with the business to develop and implement strategies and projects that will ensure we become safer every day. Supporting WesCEF operating businesses, you will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that safety standards and behaviours are implemented and maintained across all sites.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, you will:
* Build safety capability through education, risk identification, communication and influencing;
* Assist management in setting high standards in safety performance and to continuously improve safety behaviours;
* Develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive health and safety plan in conjunction with business managers;
* Facilitate quality risk management/assessment sessions for employees and contractors;
* Coach and mentor employees and business leaders in inspections, management of change, audits and safety interactions;
* Ensure incidents are reported, and investigations are conducted to a depth that ensures that appropriate actions are identified and implemented; and
* Prioritise safety for self and others in all practices.
Do you have a mix of the following skills and attributes?
* Proven success in a similar role within the heavy industry;
* Experience working in a high risk, dangerous goods environment;
* Formal OHS qualification/s (similar relevant qualifications considered);
* Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and standards;
* Strong communication, influencing & relationship building skills; and
* A real passion for and experience driving cultural change.
