Salary: Teacher, $88,178 - $127,737 per annum (pro‐rate) (SEA GA 2023)
Term: 7‐month fixed term, full‐time position commencing as soon as possible. Applicants who can commence in Term 3, 2026 are also encouraged to apply.
Hedland Senior High School (SHS), located in the Pilbara, is an independent public‐school catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12. The school is committed to a positive behaviour support system focused on care, courtesy, respect and responsibility, fostering a high standard of behaviour and performance, and supporting an inclusive culture for all students and staff.
In this role, the successful applicant should be motivated and able to teach secondary Arts. Knowledge and experience teaching drama, dance and/or music contexts within the Western Australian (WA) Curriculum is highly desirable. The role may involve team‐teaching opportunities, requiring flexibility and collaborative skills.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Hedland Senior High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $4 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro‐rate for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
