Health and Security Assistant (HASA)
Location: Bowral & District Hospital, Southern Highlands. Employment type: Casual, up to 38 hours per week. Closing date: 17 May 2026.
Responsibilities
* Support clinical staff with patient care activities while maintaining safety, dignity, and respect.
* Contribute to a safe and secure hospital workplace for staff, patients, and visitors.
* Assist in protecting South Western Sydney Local Health District assets.
* Support day‐to‐day hospital operations in a professional and respectful manner.
* Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare and security team.
Qualifications
* Hold a current NSW Class 1A Security Licence, current First Aid Certificate, and a valid Australian C‐class driver's licence (including P1 or P2; learner licences not accepted).
* Willingness to work a 7‐day rotating roster, including mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, public and school holidays, and ability to work within a morgue environment.
* Demonstrated computer literacy at a data‐entry level.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills to engage with staff, patients, and the public.
* Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and adherence to NSW Health policies and procedures.
* Security Master Licence Number for South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) 410572116.
Vaccination Requirements
* A current influenza (flu) vaccination is a mandatory requirement for appointment to this position.
