Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Responsibilities:

This position forms part of the College non‐teaching administration team. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible directly to the Dean of Finance, working closely with the Principal and College Leadership Team.

As a member of staff, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator will lead the coordination, implementation and oversight of the College's marketing and communications strategy. The role supports the mission, values and Catholic ethos of St John Bosco College by promoting a clear, consistent and positive public profile across all external and internal platforms.

The position requires professional judgement, initiative, confidentiality and the capacity to work collaboratively across all areas of the College, ensuring that College life is documented, celebrated and promoted equitably across Primary, Secondary, Arts, Sport and Academic domains.

The core responsibility of this role is to lead and coordinate all marketing, communications, branding and public engagement activity for the College.

Duties:

Strategic Marketing & College Profile

Lead the development, implementation and review of the College's Marketing and Communications Strategy, aligned with the College Strategic Plan, mission and values.

Raise the profile of St John Bosco College through clear, values‐aligned messaging and professional presentation.

Advise College Leadership on marketing priorities, opportunities and risks.

Ensure all external marketing and communications support current and future enrolment priorities.

External Marketing, Advertising & Digital Platforms

Coordinate and oversee all external advertising and marketing activity, including:

* College website
* Parent communication app
* Digital and print advertising

Oversee the external communications workflow, including coordinated posting permissions (e.g. managing designated contributors and publishing schedules).

Ensure messaging is timely, accurate and aligned with College tone and brand standards.

Content Coordination & College Storytelling

Document, celebrate and promote College activities across all areas of the College, ensuring equitable representation of:

* Primary and Secondary
* Arts and Performing Arts
* Sporting achievements
* Academic and pastoral initiatives

Coordinate photography, videography and content collection at College events.

Manage the College image and digital asset library.

Brand Management & Graphic Design Oversight

Maintain and enforce consistency of the College brand across all platforms, publications, signage, uniforms and promotional materials.

Possess the graphic design skills necessary to oversee and, where appropriate, create or refine:

* Posters, flyers and event collateral
* Digital graphics and social media assets
* Promotional publications

Support staff to meet branding requirements while maintaining a professional corporate image.

Support for Departments & Events

Support College departments and staff with the promotion of projects, initiatives and events.

Liaise with internal event organisers to ensure College events are professionally presented and marketed, including coordination with AV, presentation materials and external suppliers.

Assist in ensuring College events reflect a positive, polished and welcoming image of the College.

Community, Alumni & Stakeholder Engagement
* Liaise with and support the Friends of St John Bosco to promote events and initiatives and strengthen parent engagement.
* Liaise externally with community groups, partner schools and organisations to strengthen connections and promote the College.
* Maintain Alumni records and coordinate ongoing alumni communication and engagement.
Communication Planning & Coordination

Coordinate calendar management for key marketing and communication activities.

Plan and manage weekly College communications to ensure clarity, consistency and appropriate timing.

Liaise with staff to coordinate communication requests and manage competing priorities.

Professional Conduct & Other Duties

Represent St John Bosco College professionally at all times.

Attend College events held outside normal working hours as required.

Undertake other duties as requested by the Principal.

Working Hours

Total 42 weeks per year consisting of 40 weeks of term time and 2 weeks in school holiday time. These 2 weeks in school holiday time includes 4 days prior to the commencement of students in January each year and two days within each of the three school holiday periods.

Workdays are 8am to 4pm.

Conditions may be negotiated with the Principal depending on individual circumstances.

Qualifications:

* A qualification in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience in a similar role.
* Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating marketing and communications activities.
* Strong understanding of brand management and messaging consistency.
* Proven experience in managing digital platforms, including websites, apps and social media.
* Well‐developed graphic design capability and experience overseeing print and digital assets.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across a complex school environment.
* High attention to detail, professional judgement and discretion.
* Experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
* Commitment to and active support of the Catholic ethos and values of the College.
* Experience working in an education or values‐based organisation.
* Experience developing and implementing a whole‐of‐organisation marketing or communications strategy.
* Experience supporting events, community engagement or alumni programs.
* Photography or videography skills for promotional purposes.
* Experience working with parent groups, community organisations or partner schools.
* Familiarity with enrolment marketing, community outreach or school promotion.
