Remuneration: $76,364.00 - $117,755.00 per annum, plus superannuation
Location: Bondi Junction, Sydney
Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate, driven, and qualified mental health clinician to join our Youth Access Team (YAT). This position supports young people experiencing mental health, sexual health, substance use and general wellbeing challenges.
Shift pattern includes day (8:30‐5:00 or 9:30‐6:00) and afternoon (11:00‐7:30) shifts. The position is funded until June 2027.
Responsibilities
* Complete risk assessments, mental health assessments and deliver mental health literacy education to young people.
* Provide counselling and brief therapeutic interventions for issues related to mental health, sexual health, substance use and general wellbeing.
* Consult, liaise and negotiate with young people, family members, carers and other professionals.
* Work effectively within a busy, complex multidisciplinary team and exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters.
* Commit to quality improvement, evidence‐based practice and ongoing clinical and professional learning.
* Maintain understanding of privacy legislation, informed consent for minors, confidentiality limits and mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse.
* Use health information systems and telephone effectively.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or equivalent qualification.
* Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Psychologist with a four‐year degree in psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
* Overseas qualified Social Workers must have qualifications assessed by the AASW.
* Ability to complete risk assessments, mental health assessments and provide brief therapeutic interventions.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and problem‐solving skills.
* Independent professional judgement and teamwork skills.
* Commitment to evidence‐based practice, quality improvement and professional learning.
* Knowledge of privacy legislation, informed consent principles for minors, confidentiality limits and mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse.
* Computer skills and capacity to use health information systems.
