About the Role
The Senior Claims Specialist is a critical role within our organization, responsible for leading the compilation of property insurance and disaster recovery funding arrangements claims.
This position reports to the Insurance Coordinator and requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide other claims assessors in the team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, enabling them to effectively interact with stakeholders across various departments and agencies.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the claim's compilation process from natural disaster events;
* Providing oversight to ensure compliance with government and departmental expectations and policies;
* Implementing and refining the property insurance claims process;
* Servicing as a senior member of the claims assessor team, assisting the Insurance Coordinator with the administration of property insurance and DRFA claims;
Additionally, this role involves providing accurate and authoritative advice to the Transport Services executive group, as well as supporting emerging priorities with an agile approach.
To succeed in this position, you will need to possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues and policy interpretations. Proactive stakeholder management skills and effective communication are also essential.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* A relevant tertiary degree in business, engineering, or public policy, or extensive relevant experience;
* Experience in insurance claims or general process management would be highly beneficial;
