Overview
"Background of the role:
Land Command, Control, Communications and Computers Modernisation System Program Office (LC4 Mod SPO) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Systems and Software Engineer Software to operate as an embedded part of the LC4 Mod SPO team in CA40.
Essential qualification and experience requirement:
* Tertiary Engineering qualifications in a relevant engineering or computer science field and practical experience in the acquisition or modification of software-intensive systems in a Defence environment, and
* ICT skills.
Essential job criteria:
* Lead, plan and deliver critical and complex engineering activities and provide advice in the field of software engineering including the evaluation of technical and design packages.
* Attain Technical Authority (TA) commensurate with experience, knowledge and qualifications. Accountable for exercising assigned engineering authorities and any Technical Authority delegations.
* Work collaboratively, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and influence the work of teams, including providing assistance to the CA40 Engineering Manager.
* Evaluate and ensure that the delivered material meets relevant Australian and International Standards, regulations and Defence requirements and implement actions.
* Assist in the preparation of design documents and contracts, and various reports such as specialist engineering reports, Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and LC4 Mod SPO Engineering Review Boards (ERB).
* Perform quality control on engineering documentation submitted to the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) by the various vendors.
* Lead and ensure safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are considered and incorporated into software engineering activities.
* Manage workflows, resources, prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes, employing industry best practice.

* Demonstrated significant experience with systems and software safety, security and managing technical risk,
* Demonstrated experience with networking, computers and operating systems,
* Takes initiative to keep skills up to date, maintaining awareness of industry developments and continuous improvement opportunities, and
* Evaluates and ensures that the capability sustainment meets requirements in line with legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks.
Essential qualification and experience requirement:

Preferable defence experience:
* Defence and/or CASG project engineering experience (SEMP, Technical Certification Plans, Requirements Management), and
