The Department of Health seeks a highly motivated and experienced Radiation Therapist for this key leadership position at the WP Holman Clinic, Hobart, Tasmania. The clinic has 3 Varian linear accelerators, Canon CT simulator, Eclipse planning system and a Gulmay superficial x-ray unit. Radiation Therapy techniques currently in use include IGRT, VMAT, DIBH, SBRT and SRT.
The Holman Clinic is part of the Cancer and Blood Services stream at the Royal Hobart Hospital, which provides an integrated radiation therapy, medical oncology and haematological service.
The Role
The Radiation Therapy Clinical Tutor will plan, develop and supervise Radiation Therapy undergraduate and postgraduate trainee education within the WP Holman Clinic, Royal Hobart Hospital and in collaboration with relevant universities and the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA). In consultation with senior clinical staff, identify, plan and implement continuing professional development education, training and activities for Radiation Therapists, develop and monitor mentoring programmes for Radiation Therapists re-entering the profession, and provide education and training to other allied health, nursing and medical staff as required.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate education and clinical practice requirements for radiation therapy students to ensure the needs of students, universities and professional bodies are being met.
* Develop, implement and support continuing professional development for all radiation therapists and other clinic staff.
* Assist and advise on the implementation of new techniques, protocols and equipment whilst ensuring all staff receive adequate training in their use.

Details of appointment
* Permanent, full time, day worker (with on call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Fixed term hours may be negotiated.
Salary
$142,472 to $150,199 per annum + 12% superannuation contribution.

Qualifications
