Field and Logistics Support Specialist

Karratha, WA (with travel across PKKP Country) – Full-time | Permanent

About Us

PKKP Aboriginal Corporation is a Puutu Kunti Kurrama and Pinikura–led organisation grounded in Country and culture, and unapologetically ambitious in how we protect, govern and strengthen it. Our work sits at the intersection of deep cultural authority and world‐class practice, and we are doing things differently.

PKKP is preparing to participate in one of the largest archaeological and cultural heritage projects of its kind in the world, carried out in partnership with internationally recognised experts.

We are building an organisation with a global outlook, forming international partnerships to strengthen Indigenous governance, cultural protection and land management. Our leadership and teams have engaged directly with Indigenous peoples and institutions overseas, including learning exchanges with the Sámi people in Norway, cultural and governance work in New Orleans, and emerging partnerships with world‐leading archaeological and research teams, including those connected to the Lascaux cave systems in France.

At our core, everything we do serves Country, culture and future generations. We value curiosity, courage and excellence, and we back our people to grow alongside the organisation.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and hands‐on Field and Logistics Support Specialist to join our Land and Heritage Unit. This role is responsible for coordinating and supporting field operations across PKKP Country, ensuring heritage surveys, on‐country meetings, environmental monitoring activities, and cultural site visits are delivered safely, efficiently, and respectfully.

Working closely with PKKP Traditional Owners, staff, and external consultants, you will play a key role in ensuring on‐Country activities are well planned, culturally appropriate, and operationally supported from start to finish.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working in remote environments, solving problems on the ground, and contributing to meaningful work connected to Country and culture.

Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate logistics for remote field activities including travel, accommodation, equipment, supplies, permits, and communications.
* Work alongside internal teams to schedule and support heritage surveys, cultural programs, and on‐Country activities.
* Liaise with PKKP Traditional Owners and external stakeholders to support participation in Country‐based activities.
* Maintain and track field vehicles, equipment, and consumables to ensure operational readiness.
* Monitor field activities and support compliance with WHS procedures and cultural protocols.
* Participate in fieldwork alongside Traditional Owners, PKKP staff, and consultants where required.
* Ensure site access permissions and cultural requirements are obtained and respected prior to activities commencing.
About You Essential Requirements
* Demonstrated experience in field logistics, remote operations, or field support roles.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in remote settings.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience working respectfully with Aboriginal communities.
* Practical knowledge of vehicle, equipment, and communications management in remote environments.
* Sound understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) and risk management.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
* Current C Class Driver's Licence.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience working for or with an Aboriginal organisation.
* Knowledge of Pilbara cultural heritage or land management practices.
* 4WD and remote area driving experience.
* First Aid Certificate.
* Experience using logistics software or asset tracking systems.
Why Join Us?
* Supportive, community‐focused work environment
* Meaningful work supporting connection to Country and cultural heritage outcomes
* Opportunity to work on‐Country across the Pilbara region
* Access to salary packaging benefits
