Maintenance Officer – Residential Aged Care Home
Employment Type: Permanent – Part‐Time
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Location: Mercy Place, Warrnambool – 16 Hopetoun Rd, Warrnambool VIC 3280
Responsibilities
* Carry out ground maintenance, ongoing repairs, and preventative servicing of buildings, plant, equipment, and furniture.
* Liaise with and oversee contractors, including site access and inductions.
* Identify, report, and implement opportunities for improvement across the facility.
* Assist in identifying and rectifying WHS/OHS issues to maintain a safe environment.
* Maintain accurate records using computer‐based maintenance systems.
* Contribute positively to a collaborative, resident‐focused team environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Strong time management, organisational and communication skills.
* Compassionate, flexible and solutions‐focused approach.
* Ability to build respectful relationships and work both independently and within a team.
* Previous maintenance experience (trade background or qualification preferred but not essential).
* Experience in aged care or hotel/hospital settings (highly regarded).
* Proficient computer skills; experience with maintenance management systems is an advantage.
* Good knowledge of WHS/OHS standards and regulatory maintenance requirements for aged care and independent living.
* Experience managing contractors and understanding of essential systems such as HVAC, essential services, and Building 9C regulations.
* Evidence of a current Police Record Check.
* Trade‐based qualification or more than 3 years of experience in a commercial maintenance position.
* Current driver's licence.
* National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) clearance.
