About the Role
Reporting to the PreContracts Manager and working closely with our Regional Manager, the Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a variety of civil construction projects (Water, Water Treatment and Transport Infrastructure). The role works closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure commercially sound and competitive outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Reviewing project plans, specifications, and contract documentation to determine project scope and requirements
* Preparing detailed cost estimates including labour, materials, plant, subcontractor, and overhead costs
* Conducting quantity take-offs and analysing construction drawings and specifications
* Sourcing and negotiating pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
* Assessing project risks, contingencies, and value engineering opportunities
* Preparing professional tender submissions, methodologies, and supporting documentation
* Coordinating tender handovers for awarded projects
* Collaborating with internal stakeholders throughout the tender and pre-contract process
* Monitoring industry trends and identifying opportunities to improve estimating processes and efficiencies
