Leading Hand Carpenter
About the role
As a Leading Hand Carpenter at WorkPac - Gladstone, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating a team of carpenters to deliver high-quality carpentry and cabinet making services to our valued clients in the Gladstone, QLD 4680 area. This full-time position is an opportunity to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our dynamic Trades & Services team.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and supervise a team of carpenters to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards
- Coordinate work schedules and delegate tasks to team members
- Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and manage their expectations
- Provide hands‑on carpentry and cabinet making work as required
- Identify and address any issues or challenges that arise during projects
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and quality standards
- Mentor and train junior team members to develop their skills and expertise
What we're looking for
- Extensive experience as a Carpenter, with a demonstrated track record of leading and managing a team
- Strong technical skills and a deep understanding of carpentry and cabinet making techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and coordinate your team
- Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple tasks and priorities
- Commitment to safety and quality, with a focus on delivering exceptional results
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications
