Overview
STW Industries Pty Ltd (trading as Specialised Tyres & Wheel) is a family-owned agribusiness that supplies high‐quality off‐highway tyres and wheels across Australia. Based in Forrestdale, WA, we seek a Metal Machinist to join our team and help maintain our reputation for precision and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate CNC machines, drilling, turning, boring, plating, and milling machines, lathes, and other hand tools to shape metal parts.
* Program CNC machines and perform heat treatment processes as required.
* Set up components for welding and joining according to specifications.
* Read blueprints, drawings, and CAD designs to understand job specifications.
* Calculate dimensions, measure, and mark metal for machining operations.
* Select appropriate equipment or methods based on job requirements.
* Machine parts and components for use in final product assemblies.
* Inspect and test surfaces, structures, and components to identify and correct flaws.
* Maintain accuracy and precision using measuring instruments.
* Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance and minor repairs.
* Wear appropriate safety gear, including goggles, gloves, boots, and protective clothing.
* Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
* Certificate III in Machining.
* Minimum 1–2 years of machining experience.
* Trade qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
* Experience operating CNC machines and other machining tools.
* Strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications.
* Proficiency in using precise measuring instruments.
Eligibility
* Good written and spoken English.
* Eligible for employment in Australia.
Skills
* Intermediate computer skills (Office 365 – Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Ability to work independently under limited supervision or as part of a team.
* Autonomous planning and problem solving.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Good manual dexterity and hand‐eye coordination.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Team player.
