We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Migration Developer with a heavy emphasis on end‐to‐end data migration from one of the largest Oracle databases in the world.
You will be a key hands‐on member of a large‐scale data transformation initiative. You will be responsible for the development, testing, and implementation of data migration processes to move critical data from a legacy Oracle database to a modern solution. You will work closely with the Wipro Data Migration Lead, analysts, and testers to implement robust data pipelines, write complex queries, and perform rigorous data validation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the migrated data. Your primary focus will be on the technical execution of the migration strategy.
Driver Licensing is very complex (consider disadvantaged community members, regional and remote; medical restrictions, interstate and international applicants, ESL (English as a 2nd language), translations, fines, demerit points and so on).
The solution will be complicated by the real‐time nature of the data and numerous integrated agencies that will both read/write into the data (e.g. Insurers, Councils, ServiceNSW for applications and renewals, Revenue NSW for fines, Police for real‐time roadside checks, CTP insurance cover, Medical providers for fitness reports, and so on).
There is near real‐time syncronisation of a subset of customers (learners) and drivers with additional conditions on their learner or provisional status (perhaps alcohol interlocks, or other classes, points and conditions).
Key Responsibilities
* Migration Development: Develop, test, and deploy data migration scripts, ETL/ELT jobs, and procedures using Oracle tools based on the defined architecture.
* ETL/ELT Pipeline Implementation: Implement and maintain scalable, high‐performance data pipelines utilizing Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle GoldenGate, and advanced PL/SQL.
* Data Migration Testing: Design and execute unit, system, and regression tests to verify data accuracy, completeness, and integrity post‐migration. Perform data reconciliation and develop validation scripts.
* Performance Tuning: Write, analyze, and optimise complex SQL queries and PL/SQL code to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading. Address performance bottlenecks in migration scripts.
* Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, defects, and blockers related to data migration scripts, database connectivity, and data quality.
* Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts to understand data requirements and with QA testers to validate migration results, ensuring deliverables align with project objectives.
* Documentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation for migration processes, code, and configurations to support ongoing development and maintenance.
* Sensitive Data Handling: Adhere to the highest standards of security and confidentiality when handling sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Special Personal Information (SPI).
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Experience: 5+ years of hands‐on experience in Data Engineering or Database Development, with a strong focus on data migration.
* Oracle Expertise: Strong, hands‐on experience with Oracle Database architecture (12c, 19c), PL/SQL development, and performance tuning.
* Migration Experience: Demonstrated experience participating in large‐scale data migration projects, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
* Tooling: Proficiency in advanced SQL, PL/SQL, and experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or a similar enterprise‐grade ETL tool. Experience with Oracle GoldenGate is highly desirable.
* Platforms: Experience with AWS cloud environments.
* Data Modeling: Good understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling concepts.
* Analytical Skills: Strong problem‐solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve complex data‐related technical issues.
* Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non‐technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with Python, shell scripting, or other modern data scripting languages.
* Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
* Experience with 4GL/Coolgen technologies is nice to have.
