Responsibilities
* Engaging in Therapy: The main component of this role is to provide evidence‐based therapy to young people in the Kununurra community. This is primarily through one‐on‐one sessions in the headspace centre, but the clinician also has the flexibility to engage in sessions outside a clinical setting. Can also engage in group sessions with young people if this falls within the clinical scope and expertise of the clinician.
* Cultural Clinical Governance: Actively engage in providing a culturally safe service for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and all cultural and linguistically diverse (CALD) people in Kununurra. This involves regular clinical cultural yarning sessions and completing in‐house and external cultural training sessions.
* Case Management: Manage one's own caseload, engage in follow‐up with young people, family and external agencies if deemed appropriate, and complete regular file reviews throughout engagement with headspace Kununurra.
* Multidisciplinary Clinical Team Participation: Engage in regular clinical meetings and case reviews with the headspace Kununurra clinical team.
* Clinical Documentation: Demonstrate exemplary note‐taking and objective documentation of clinical case notes.
* Liaising with External Stakeholders: Communicate with external agencies clearly and concisely while operating under ethical and legal requirements (privacy and confidentiality).
* Service Development: Contribute to the development of innovative, evidence‐based and culturally safe clinical services.
* Clinical Governance: Support the Centre Manager and Clinical Lead with implementing, monitoring and reviewing clinical governance frameworks to maintain service quality and safety.
* Community Engagement: Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to enhance service delivery and address community needs. Participate in community engagement events run by headspace and external agencies.
Job Requirements - Essential
* Tertiary Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Youth Services, or another allied health discipline or relevant experience.
* Professional Registration: Registered with an appropriate regulatory agency, such as the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Experience: Demonstrated experience in providing evidence‐based therapeutic interventions in a clinical setting. Experience working with young people aged 12‐25 is preferred but not required.
* Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in mental health service delivery, ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and developed sound communication and interpersonal skills.
