Overview
Singleton Council is seeking a Coordinator Economic Development to provide input into the growth and evolution of the Council as it transitions towards a post‑mining and net zero future. The role is part of the Community Growth and Evolution Business Unit, responsible for integrating land use planning, sustainability, economic development and community development to deliver long‑term, sustainable community outcomes. The role will lead a team delivering economic development services in line with the Council’s strategic direction and requires high‑level strategic thinking to coordinate and communicate economic data and trends to inform strategies, policies and programs related to the Socio‑Economic Development Strategy, Investment Prospectus, Destination Management Plan and related plans.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a team responsible for the provision of economic development services to the Council and the community in line with the Council’s strategic direction.
- Coordinate and communicate economic data and trends to inform strategies, policies and programs related to the Socio‑Economic Development Strategy, Investment Prospectus, Destination Management Plan, Super Easy Singleton and Council’s Community Strategic Plan.
- Bring high‑level strategic thinking to grant funding and application processes across all levels of government and maintain relationships with relevant Federal and State government agencies.
Qualifications
- Experience in grant funding and application processes across all levels of government.
- Developed relationships with relevant Federal and State government agencies.
- Available on a permanent, full‑time basis (35 hours per week).
- Remuneration package based on Council’s Salary System Protocol (Grade 15) with base salary in the range of $122,028 – $137,262 per annum plus $18,168 vehicle allowance and 12% superannuation.
