Overview
Manager – Fixed Wireless Systems Architecture to lead the evolution of EMS platforms, network automation, and telemetry architecture underpinning the Fixed Wireless network. This role reports to the Executive Manager – Fixed Wireless Architecture.
Responsibilities
* Lead the evolution of EMS and network management platforms toward cloud-native, API-driven architectures.
* Drive network automation strategy and implementation, reducing manual operations and improving operational efficiency at scale.
* Define and deliver end-to-end telemetry architecture to enable real-time visibility, observability, and performance optimisation.
* Architect and enable data streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka-based pipelines) for real-time analytics and event-driven operations.
* Ensure tight integration between RAN, transport, and core systems through standardised APIs and microservices-based designs.
* Provide technical leadership for next-generation operational capabilities, including closed-loop automation and AI-driven network optimisation.
* Align all architecture decisions to business outcomes—network performance, cost efficiency, resilience, and compliance.
* Collaborate with customers, partners, and cross-functional teams to shape and deliver technically robust and commercially aligned solutions.
* Foster collaboration across diverse workstreams to deliver large-scale telecommunications programs with discipline and shared purpose.
* Lead and support teams to deliver outcomes that strengthen connectivity for communities across Australia.
Qualifications
* Deep experience in service provider telecommunications with a strong foundation in network architecture, systems engineering, and RF-based broadband technologies.
* Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity, guiding decision-making on large-scale programs to deliver meaningful outcomes.
* Experience in carrier-grade networking environments and understanding of how network design supports business objectives.
* Thoughtful and inclusive leadership with strong collaboration, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
* Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences; motivated by continuous learning and open to feedback.
