Facilities Assistant
The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a well-established facilities team to ensure the School's campus is maintained to a high standard.
This role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the physical environment of the School, including common areas, classrooms, laboratories, and other designated spaces. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being an active team player who contributes positively to the working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all areas of the School, adhering to established schedules and procedures.
* Clean and maintain laboratories, classrooms, and other designated spaces as required.
* Participate in deep cleaning tasks on an ad-hoc basis, as required by the team leader or Facilities Manager.
* Operate and maintain various pieces of equipment used in cleaning tasks, including vacuum cleaners, mops, and other cleaning tools.
* Ensure that all materials and supplies are stored safely and efficiently.
* Assist with receiving and dispatching of goods and materials.
* Contribute to the maintenance of a safe working environment by identifying potential hazards and reporting them to the Facilities Manager.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and students. They will also have a strong commitment to teamwork and a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
Applicants should have a good understanding of health and safety practices and procedures, with a focus on risk management and mitigation. They should also be able to lift heavy loads (up to 20kg) and work at heights, if required.
