Estimator Assistant | Launceston

This is a full‐time position (Monday to Friday). Part‐time consideration is possible for the right applicant. In this role, you will support the estimating team with administration, data entry, and foundational estimating tasks while learning the construction process from the ground up.
What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting the estimating team with administration and data entry
* Assisting with the preparation of quotes and documentation
* Sourcing material information and identifying suitable alternatives
* Reviewing construction documents and plans
* Maintaining accurate records and ensuring high attention to detail
* Assisting the team to meet customer deadlines and service expectations
* Building knowledge of construction processes, materials, and systems
What We're Looking For
Key Skills & Experience
* Interest or exposure to construction, building, or trade environments
* Strong numeracy skills with the ability to apply maths in practical scenarios
* Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
Technical Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Confidence working with data, spreadsheets, and documentation
* Ability to interpret or learn construction plans and documents

Career Progression & Development
* Estimator Assistant (6–12 months): Focus on administration, data entry, and learning fundamentals of estimating and construction
* Junior Estimator: Increased responsibility including supplier coordination, document review, and estimating support
* Estimator: Managing end‐to‐end estimating with minimal supervision
* Senior Estimator: Leading the estimating function and supporting team development
Training May Include
* TAFE modules (plan reading, Excel)
* Supplier product training
* Exposure to trade and operational areas
* On‐the‐job mentoring and development
