Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Physiotherapist applicants to join our team as an on aPart-time basis with shifts primarily across Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays with occasional weekend shifts.

Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospitalhas11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also havea cardiac suite includinga cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery isavailable for families in the Newcastle region.Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As Physiotherapist your responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive Physiotherapy services to acute surgical inpatients including orthopaedics, general surgery, cardiac and neurosurgery.
- Delivering excellent clinical services related to assessment, treatment, planning and evidence-based practice.
- Participating in program development and quality improvement activities within the Allied Health Department.
- Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and their support people.
- Discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team and referrals to external services.
- Clinical supervision of physiotherapy and allied health assistant students.
Qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor in Physiotherapy.
- Minimum 12 months experience in an acute hospital environment.
- Excellent clinical practice skills to manage a high acuity caseload.
- Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Proven experience in ICU & High acuity surgical settings.
