About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Assistant Director to work closely with our Centre Director and Leadership Team.
This is a hands‐on leadership role with four key focus areas:
* Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)
* Rostering and staffing management
* Availability to work five days per week
* Mentoring educators and working on the floor
As our Assistant Director, you will help oversee day‐to‐day centre operations, support curriculum implementation, maintain compliance with all relevant legislation and standards, assist with recruitment and staffing, and foster strong relationships with children, families and the wider community.
Skills and Experience
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, leadership and organisational skills
Excellent working knowledge of VEYLDF, NQF and Child Safe Standards
Knowledge of the Assessment and Rating process and the ability to lead a team through it
Experience collaborating on and implementing a forward‐thinking Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
Strong understanding of compliance and legislative requirements
Experience overseeing funded Kindergarten programs, including KIMS, PRODA, ISS and KISS
Ability to build respectful and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A solution‐oriented mindset and strong work ethic
Proven rostering and team management experience
Administrative skills including Storypark, Xplor, Excel, Word and CCS knowledge
Experience supporting educators' professional development and performance
Commitment to inclusion and supporting children with additional needs
Ability to assist with organising incursions, excursions and centre events
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor of Education (Early Years) or equivalent
Previous experience in an Assistant Director or Director role (highly desirable)
Current First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR certifications
Current Working with Children Check
