As a Project Manager, you’ll plan and manage Major Periodic Maintenance projects within V/Line’s Annual Works Plan. You’ll ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with safety and quality standards, while providing guidance and development to your team. Key accountabilities include:
Lead the planning and delivery of Major Periodic Maintenance projects within the Annual Works Plan. Develop and manage detailed project programs, budgets, and milestones to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers to build capability and performance. Drive compliance with V/Line’s governance, safety, and quality standards across all project phases. Oversee procurement activities, risk management, and environmental approvals to meet regulatory and organisational requirements. Engage and influence internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth handovers and operational readiness. Monitor progress, prepare accurate reports and forecasts, and manage project close-out and defect liability processes. About you

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Track, or Structural Engineering. Significant experience delivering complex, multi‑disciplinary projects in rail or infrastructure. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams of engineers. Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills. Advanced problem‑solving capability and ability to manage risk proactively. White Card and valid driver’s licence. Willingness to travel and live away during key project stages.
