The Opportunity
CSI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to provide day‐to‐day direction and supervision of maintenance crews on one of our client's sites. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high‐quality maintenance activities and will act as the site leader when the Site Manager is on leave. This crucial supervisory role ensures the reliability and performance of our fixed plant and mobile equipment. This is a permanent, full‐time role on an 8D 6RR roster.
Primary Responsibilities
* Supervise the site mechanical team, establishing a committed focus on risk assessment, reliability and utilisation, and achieving overall production targets.
* Ensure compliance with all safety rules and procedures, and participate in safety or training initiatives identified by the company and/or the client.
* Maintain cost‐effective production procedures to achieve optimum plant output, availability, reliability, and utilisation.
* Implement effective safe‐work procedures and continuous improvement.
* Assign daily tasks to direct reports and ensure all tasks are adequately supervised.
* Lead pre‐start meetings, daily performance meetings, and return‐to‐work meetings.
* Set clear expectations and accountabilities with all team members and hold employees accountable for their roles.
* Achieve safety KPIs – take times, inspections, JHAs must be completed and entered into STEMS in a timely manner.
* Update, review, and distribute safety and performance reports as directed.
* Assist in organising, planning, preparing and executing plant shutdowns, providing input in shutdown meetings.
* Ensure completion of all checks and inspections such as Supervisor Daily Workplace Inspection, ROM Inspection, Workshop Inspection, and Stockyard Inspection.
* Provide ongoing mentoring and coaching of production crews and identify training requirements.
* Assist and provide input on plant performance with the Production Superintendent.
* Escalate safety, damage, and/or downtime events immediately to the Production Superintendent.
* Work with the planner to audit consumables and critical spares.
What is required?
* C Class Driver's Licence.
* Schedule 26.
* Certificate III (Mechanical Trade).
* WAH, CS, CN, CV, DG certificates of competency.
* Current First Aid certification.
* Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
* Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, pumps, gearboxes, and materials handling equipment.
* High‐risk work licences (e.g., crane, forklift, EWP, rigging).
* Certificate IV or Diploma in Frontline Management or equivalent.
* Sound mechanical knowledge or trade background.
* Previous experience working in a crushing plant or similar fixed‐plant environment in a supervisory capacity.
* Australian work rights.
