Overview
WA Country Health Service – WACHS – Midwest (Geraldton, WA) is offering a Fixed‐Term Full‐Time Nurse Manager role with a 76‐hour fortnightly schedule. The position is based in Geraldton, a coastal regional town 420 km north of Perth, ideally suited for those who thrive in a relaxed community environment.
Responsibilities
Develop innovative recruitment strategies and implement them through the Regional Executive Committee. Facilitate and lead the development and implementation of new workforce models across the region, including Nurse Practitioner positions. Provide high‐level support for the recruitment, selection and allocation of nursing staff throughout WACHS Midwest.
Qualifications
* Eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Demonstrated understanding of nursing recruitment and retention programs and workforce requirements.
* Knowledge of industrial relations and nursing recruitment processes in the public sector.
* High level of communication skills, including written reports, negotiation, facilitation and problem‐solving.
* Sound understanding of current issues in the public sector health system, including rural service issues.
* High‐level computer skills, including database management.
* Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact employment and service delivery.
* Eligibility for or possession of a current C or C‐A Class driver's licence or other specialised licence class.
