Your role at St John of God Midland Private Hospital
We are seeking Enrolled Nurses for all wards and specialties to be part of our brand-new Midland Private Hospital. You will be a member of a multidisciplinary nursing team, participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Enrolled Nurse delivers quality evidence-based nursing care within their scope of practice.
The Position
* Works in consultation and co-operation with other care team members to provide care according to the physical and emotional needs of the patient and their families.
* Assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the day-to-day mental health and basic physical care requirements of patients.
* Participate in patient assessments, including mental health, risk assessment and management, history taking and developing comprehensive nursing care plans. Ensuring risks are documented and appropriate interventions, referrals are facilitated.
* Administer medication within scope of the Enrolled Nurse classification and in accordance with statutory and organisational guidelines under the direct or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.
* Advise and educate patients regarding treatment and recovery in relevant specialty.
* Utilise and promote reflective practice models, such as Clinical Supervision to promote best practice, heighten awareness and development of self and colleagues.
* Utilise appropriate de-escalation skills to prevent aggressive behaviour.
* Responsibly and effectively manage resources used in the provision of health care.
* Observe record and report to the Nurse Unit Manager / Team Leader/ Registered Nurse or relevant supervisor.
* Recognise the rights of all patients under our care.
* Maintain appropriate documentation of the health management of patients for professional clinical and legal purposes.
* Be competent under supervision in the management of medical emergencies, physical assessment and crisis intervention.

* Medical Ward
* Surgical Ward
* Main Theatre
* Endoscopy
* Day Procedure Unit/DOSA
* Critical Care
* Angiography Suite
You will hold current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and demonstrate the clinical knowledge and skills required to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. To succeed you will have sound written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction. About The New Midland Private Hospital
* A brand-new purpose-built state-of-the-art facility, currently under construction, located just 300 metres from the St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospitals Campus.
* A comprehensive range of medical and surgical services, with interventional cardiology being offered for the first time in the region
The hospital will feature:
* 96 overnight inpatient beds, including a six-bed critical care/high dependency unit
* 33 bed/chair short stay and day procedure unit
* Eight operating theatres
* An Angiography Suite
We can offer you
* Salary: $72,637 to $77,480 (pro rata for part time) plus 12% superannuation
