Health, Safety and Environment Advisor - Karratha Based (No FIFO)

Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation (YEC) is seeking a passionate and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to support the delivery of safe, compliant operations across our site-based activities in Karratha. Reporting to the WHSEH Manager, you'll play a vital role in embedding a strong safety culture and ensuring the effective implementation of WHS systems, procedures, and practices.

About Us

Yindjibarndi Energy Corporation (YEC) is a partnership between Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation (YAC) and international renewable energy company, ACEN Corporation (ACEN). Representing one of the largest Indigenous-led renewable energy initiatives in Australia, YEC will see the Yindjibarndi people and ACEN work together to develop wind, solar, and renewable energy storage projects on Yindjibarndi Ngurra (country) – an area covering approximately 13,000 km2 within the Yindjibarndi Native Title Determination Areas in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Key Health and Safety Advisor Responsibilities
* Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to identify and control hazards.
* Support contractor safety management, including onboarding and compliance monitoring.
* Lead or support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
* Deliver WHS training, inductions, and toolbox talks to promote safety awareness.
* Maintain WHS documentation and support internal audits and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with Perth-based YEC and ACEN Australia teams as needed.
What You'll Bring
* Diploma or Cert IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent experience.
* Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and best practices.
* Experience with WHS management systems and assurance processes.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.Ability to work independently and travel within WA (valid WA Driver's License).
* Proficiency in MS Office and general digital literacy.
* Experience in the energy, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
* Familiarity with Indigenous engagement and cultural awareness.
