About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated ICT Security Specialist to join our growing Information Technology team.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the company's cyber security posture, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our digital systems and data. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to identify risks, implement security measures, and respond to incidents swiftly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain ICT security policies, standards, and procedures
* Monitor networks, systems, and applications for security breaches and vulnerabilities
* Conduct regular risk assessments, security audits, and penetration testing
* Manage and respond to security incidents, investigations, and root cause analysis
* Oversee security tools such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and intrusion detection systems
* Implement and maintain user access controls, authentication systems, and encryption standards
* Support compliance with relevant frameworks such as ISO 27001, ASD Essential Eight, and Privacy Act requirements
* Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security considerations are embedded in all technology initiatives
* Provide training and guidance to staff on cybersecurity awareness and best practices
* Stay updated on emerging threats, technologies, and industry trends
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
* Experience in ICT security, network administration, or a related role (minimum 2 years preferred)
* Solid understanding of network, system, and cloud security principles
* Practical experience with security tools such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and monitoring systems
* Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, or AWS environments
* Knowledge of incident response and basic risk management practices
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, ISO 27001, or similar) will be an advantage but not essential
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a dynamic environment
