Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to implement high quality programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children in a 4 year old room.
About Our Centre
Our centre is a homely and welcoming early learning environment catering for 152 children between six months and six years. We have a team built on the foundations of connection, communication and consideration with a knowledgeable Centre Manager who focuses on offering continuous support and opportunities to each member of the team.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide a safe and stimulating environment which meets the needs of our children
* Encourage engagement and participation in curriculum decision making, in line with our curriculum, standards and practices
* Plan and structure learning in both indoor and outdoor environments, using a variety of materials and equipment to facilitate children's development
* Promote language development through storytelling, role play, songs, rhymes and informal discussions held individually and within groups of children
* Observe children to evaluate progress and detect signs of ill health, emotional disturbance and other disabilities
* Observe nutritional health, welfare and safety needs of children and identify factors which may impede their progress
* Have open conversations and discussions with parents to support children's development
* Attend parent interviews, centre meetings and events
* Participate in community and family support programs as appropriate
* Supervise student teachers on placement
About You
You are an experienced Early Childhood Teacher with a strong understanding and passion for providing quality care and programs that support and encourage children to thrive, grow and develop.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Aceqca recognised bachelor degree in birth five
* Current valid working with children check
* Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe, caring non judgemental and supportive environment for all children and their families
* Demonstrated ability to adhere to and understand the ECA code of ethics and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
