In this role, you'll lead high-quality portfolio office support for complex digital health projects, guiding teams in best-practice project management and strengthening governance and reporting.
You'll build strong stakeholder relationships, support informed decision-making, and contribute to a safe, values-driven and collaborative workplace.

Key Responsibilities
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with QPS values as outlined above.
Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Oversee and manage the provision of Portfolio Office services to support staff delivering large scale, complex digitally enabled programs and projects in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies.
Coach and support staff use of appropriate program and project management techniques, methodologies and tools, including change management and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
Work in conjunction with eHealth Queensland to monitor programs and projects are managed in accordance with best practice guidelines and Queensland Health's formal program and project management approach and methodologies to enable the achievement of consistent and quality project outcomes.
Initiate, influence and manage relationships with project and business stakeholders to refine and enhance the portfolio, investment governance, portfolio processes and reporting.
Facilitate effective communication through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
Ensure that project leads adhere to the agreed project and program management approaches and timetable and that they provide the appropriate information to agreed targets of timelines and accuracy.
Support the Project Managers in ensuring project outcomes are achieved and project management capability is developed and maintained within the portfolio by leading, managing and directing multi-disciplinary project team/s.
Provide expert advice and strategic input into the development of project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with Queensland Health policies, strategies and architecture.
Enable informed decision making on project issues by developing timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations and information papers for project stakeholders.
Manage staff in line with quality contemporary human resource practices and policies including workplace health and safety, ethical behaviour, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination, and commitment to their implementation consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategic intent of Queensland Health.
Provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
Perform other duties as directed by the Director, Public Health Portfolio Office.
Key Capabilities, Knowledge & Experience
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience.
Within the context of the responsibilities described above under 'Key Responsibilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Ability to acquire knowledge of information management policies, standards and practice and their contribution to health service delivery.
Proven ability to manage the provision of Program Office services, to support a number of large scale, complex digitally enabled programs and projects.
(SFIA Skill: PROF: Level 5).
Proven negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a complex program/project environment.
(NHS: Effective and strategic influencing).
Proven stakeholder relationship management skills to support effective business change, including the ability to influence key stakeholders.
(SFIA Skill: RLMT: Level 6).
Proven experience supporting program delivery through the provision of risk, change, quality, finance, resource and configuration management (SFIA Skill: PROF: Level 5).
Proven ability in providing expert advice on, and direction in appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, frameworks and tools, preferably PRINCE2.
(SFIA Skill: METL: Level 5 CNSL: Level 5).
Proven experience in leading, managing and mentoring an effective multi-disciplinary team.
