Gasco is a multicultural team focused company, an exciting and outstanding place to work for a Senior Design Engineer with around 50 % of staff working at Gasco for 10 years plus.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team supporting design and execution of process heating, combustion, and energy recovery projects. The role involves mechanical design, drafting review, equipment selection, and coordination with fabrication and site teams. Reporting directly to the Principal Mechanical Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and specification of Thermal Oxidisers, Fired Heaters, Waste Heat Recovery Units Gas Conditioning Skids and related process equipment.
- Prepare and review mechanical drawings, P&IDs;, and fabrication packages in compliance with AS/NZ, API, and ISO standards.
- Support the development of Gasco Product range.
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure technical and quality compliance.
- Participate in equipment testing, inspection, and commissioning activities.
- Contribute to design optimisation for hydrogen, solar, and electrification projects. (realistically this will only be a small part of design work currently, maybe more in future)
- Ability to project manage projects or take on a Project Engineering task when required.

Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 3–8 years of experience in pressure equipment design, process heating, or related industries.
- Familiarity with standards such as AS1210, AS4041, ASME VIII, API 560/12K, and B31.3.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) and mechanical design software. (3D CAD not necessary, just 2D AutoCAD experience)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
