Role Snapshot
Our Senior Surveyors are accountable for the end‐to‐end delivery of a range of infrastructure projects, including transport, water, utilities, buildings and civil works (based on assigned unit). This role is primarily office‐based, with approximately one day in the field each week.
* To provide high‐quality survey output in an accurate, timely and safe manner to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients;
* To develop and foster client relationships to secure repeat engagements;
* To achieve productivity goals and assist in reaching project invoicing targets;
* To effectively share expertise and assist in mentoring emerging survey professionals.
How You Will Contribute
* Coordinate accurate and timely fee proposals within Taylors guidelines upon consideration of all project outcomes;
* Liaise with the Unit Manager to determine the most appropriate survey technology based on project requirements;
* Liaise with the Unit Manager to manage workflow outputs to meet project and budget requirements;
* Coordinate the field crew;
* Coordinate drafting requirements;
* Advise clients of accurate timeframes for completion of project milestones and anticipate submission requirements;
* Consult with engineers, government authorities and other parties to obtain information relevant to project completion;
* Attend internal team meetings and action resultant tasks with set deadlines;
* Assist in production of accurate and timely invoices at predetermined project milestones;
* Liaise with internal teams to ensure optimum results for joint projects;
* Undertake regular project review meetings with the Project Administrator;
* Assist the Unit Manager in mentoring junior surveyors.
Ideal Candidate
* Recognised qualification in surveying (Bachelor's degree preferred);
* Extensive field and technical experience;
* Intermediate to advanced LISCAD and ACAD skills;
* Ability to manage projects with limited guidance, including fee proposals, client management and invoicing;
* Construction Induction Card (VPAU349 – Work Safely in the Construction Industry);
* Current driver's licence;
* Approximately 10+years post‐qualification industry experience, specifically within the infrastructure / engineering survey market;
* Expertise in a specialist survey field, such as hydrographic/bathymetric surveys, terrestrial scanning, mobile laser scanning, location of underground assets or civil construction.
