Health & Safety Advisor – Major Highways Projects | Penrith | £55,000 + Lodging
Take the lead on Health & Safety across major highways projects with a Tier One highways contractor. You will be joining a growing delivery team working on large-scale highways and infrastructure schemes, where your expertise as a Health & Safety Advisor will directly influence site standards, workforce wellbeing and safe project delivery. What you will be doing day to day
* Advising site and project teams on all Health & Safety matters across major highways projects.
* Carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with HSG, CDM and company procedures.
* Supporting accident and near‐miss investigations while implementing corrective actions and lessons learned.
* Delivering toolbox talks, inductions and workforce briefings across active construction sites.
* Monitoring subcontractor compliance and promoting a proactive Health & Safety culture throughout project delivery.
* Working closely with operational teams to continuously improve Health & Safety performance across major highways projects.
What you'll need to bring
* Proven experience within highways, infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
* A NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
* A strong understanding of CDM Regulations and highways safety standards.
* Confidence communicating with site teams, subcontractors and management at all levels.
* A proactive and solutions‐focused approach to Health & Safety.
