The Opportunity We are looking for expressions of interest from experienced and motivated Rangers to join our pool of rangers in Kununurra. Whilst you will be ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and providing high standards of service to the Shire and our Community, your duties will also include: ensuring compliance with the Dog Act 1976, Cat Act 2011, Control of Off-Road Vehicles Act 1978, Litter Act 1979, Caravan and Camping Grounds Act 1995, Bush Fire Act 1994 and the Local Government Act and the Shire's Local Laws are enforced in a consistent, fair and objective manner and in the best interest of our community and visitors to the Shire; Undertaking fire break and property inspections to ensure compliance with the Bush Fires Act 1954; Undertaking bushfire control and weather officer duties in line with the Bush Fires Act 1954; Undertaking fire control measures including controlled burns and extinguishment of fires; Responding to abandoned vehicles in accordance with relevant legislation; Managing the animal management facility, including cleaning and maintaining registers, releasing, rehoming or when necessary euthanising animals and coordinating the collection of necessary fees; Undertaking the removal and relocation of snakes within municipal boundaries. You will bring Regulatory Officer Compliance skills; Current Provide First Aid; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Basic Emergency Life Support qualifications Current unrestricted WA "C" Class Driver's Licence Reptile handling and capture experience and certificate Firearms handling and safety certificate and experience You will also need to have strong organisation and time management skills, and demonstate strong computer literacy, excellent communication, negotation and mediation skills.
