Offer description

The Podiatry Team

The Podiatry team delivers high‑quality inpatient, outpatient and community‑based podiatry services across Southern Tasmania. The team works closely with multidisciplinary health professionals to support people living with complex and chronic health conditions, with a strong focus on high‑risk foot care, prevention, and patient‑centred outcomes.

Services are delivered across outpatient clinics and community health centres, in partnership with hospitals and local services to improve access to care and support people to live well in their own communities. This is a team where the work is genuinely meaningful — clinicians see the direct impact of their care on patients’ mobility, independence, and quality of life.

With a strong focus on collaboration, quality improvement, and professional development, the team fosters a supportive learning culture where clinicians are encouraged to grow their skills, contribute ideas, and build rewarding, long‑term careers in public health. New graduates or early career podiatrists are fully supported within the Allied Health graduate program with additional growth and development opportunities for those looking to increase their skills and capabilities mid‑career. Ongoing professional development is actively supported, including opportunities to work toward Endorsement for Scheduled Medicines registration.

Podiatry Careers in the Tasmanian Health Service

Role Overview

As a Podiatrist within the outpatient and community team, you will deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based podiatry care to a diverse caseload, including people with complex health needs and high‑risk foot conditions. This role is suitable for new graduates seeking a supported entry into community practice, as well as experienced podiatrists looking for variety, professional growth, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the community.

Graduates will be supported through the AHP Graduate Program providing structured supervision, mentoring, and development opportunities to build confidence and capability in clinical practice.

You will play an important role in helping patients maintain mobility, prevent complications, and manage chronic conditions — often supporting people at critical points in their health journey. The role includes comprehensive assessment and treatment, collaboration within multidisciplinary teams, and involvement in service development, health promotion, and quality improvement initiatives. You will work both independently and with the support of senior clinicians, within a team that values learning, reflection, and continuous improvement.
